Responsibilities
- Design and implement features and components using approved architectural patterns.
- Translate requirements into clean, efficient, maintainable backend code and document implementation decisions.
- Develop and maintain automated unit and component tests and participate in code reviews.
- Identify and resolve defects, performance issues, reliability gaps, and technical debt.
- Build software with appropriate reliability, observability, logging, metrics, and supportability.
- Participate in releases, operational readiness activities, on-call rotations, production support, and incident remediation.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, QA, DevOps, and peer engineers on planning, estimation, delivery, and retrospectives.
Requirements
- Typically 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Ability to independently deliver non-trivial features and own components through development and production.
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and distributed systems.
- Experience working on production systems with availability and reliability expectations.
- Strong experience with Java and Spring or equivalent backend technologies.
- Experience with APIs, messaging systems, data persistence layers, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control tools.
- Cloud or containerized environment experience is preferred.
- Payments or regulated-environment experience is a plus.
- Clear communication, collaborative working style, ownership, and ability to work in an agile delivery environment.
