
Software Engineer III, Global Portfolio Holdings Technology

- Design, develop, execute, and troubleshoot secure, high-quality software solutions across multiple technical areas.
- Build and maintain full-stack and backend applications using modern languages, frameworks, cloud services, caching systems, and messaging technologies.
- Create architecture and design artifacts and ensure that software code satisfies design constraints.
- Collaborate with technical architects, designers, and globally distributed teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Apply automated testing, continuous delivery, monitoring, reliability, and operational stability practices.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify patterns and drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, refactoring, and documentation while validating outputs.
- Promote secure, responsible, and effective use of AI-assisted development practices and guide peers on their use.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Formal training and certification in software engineering and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Applied experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using Java or Python with TDD/BDD practices.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring, Python, ReactJS, EMR, and AWS services.
- Experience with reactive programming, system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Hands-on experience with Redis, ElastiCache, Kafka, and IBM MQ.
- Understanding of microservices, REST APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, and event-driven architectures.
- Fluency with AI coding tools and AI-assisted or agentic software development, including critically evaluating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, security, and the software development life cycle.
- Preferred qualifications include hands-on Spring and AWS experience, the ability to solve complex mission-critical problems pragmatically, and willingness to adopt emerging technologies and practices.
