Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, integrate, and maintain Linux- and Windows-based enterprise systems, backend services, orchestration platforms, and secure infrastructure components.
- Support solution architecture and technical design for DARPA product capabilities, including system diagrams, interface definitions, and integration patterns.
- Apply systems engineering, networking, cybersecurity, cloud, data-flow, automation, and distributed-systems expertise to complex technical challenges.
- Integrate and operate SIEM, SOAR, EDR, vulnerability-management, host-sensor, and network-sensor tools.
- Lead systems hardening, secure configuration, STIG implementation, and cybersecurity compliance activities.
- Develop automation and CI/CD workflows, including air-gapped pipelines, for deployment, testing, and configuration management.
- Troubleshoot hybrid infrastructures, distributed services, and mission-critical operational environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary product and operational teams and lead engineering projects and architectural decisions.
- Deliver documentation, knowledge transfer, and sustainment handoff to receiving teams.
- Provide occasional after-hours support for critical operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in systems engineering, software/application development, or security engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in classified or air-gapped environments.
- CompTIA Security+ and DoD IAT Level II or III certification, or ability to obtain the certification.
- Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience with Linux systems, virtualization, networking, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, distributed-system design, and Microsoft and Linux engineering.
- Experience with RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu Server, SELinux, kernel tuning, systemd, OS-level security, configuration management, infrastructure automation, virtualization, and container platforms.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP in secure or regulated environments and with automation and CI/CD pipelines in restricted networks.
- Experience integrating and operating SIEM/SOAR platforms and familiarity with EDR, IDS/IPS, OSQuery, Suricata, Zeek, Tenable/Nessus, and security frameworks.
- Understanding of NIST, STIGs, RMF, ATO processes, and security architecture.
- Ability to architect, document, present, and gain support for secure and scalable systems and security solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, stakeholder-management, adaptability, and technical-leadership skills.
- Ability to successfully pass background and drug screening.
