Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex distributed software systems in production.
- Translate business needs into practical, scalable architectures with developers, product owners, and stakeholders.
- Define and drive architecture patterns, coding standards, testing strategies, and operational best practices.
- Write and review code and participate in technical problem-solving across teams.
- Mentor and coach developers and technical leads.
- Review designs and implementations for quality, maintainability, and resilience.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements.
- Participate in deployments, observability, performance tuning, and incident analysis for production systems.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software development, system design, and architecture roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Python backend technologies.
- Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud-native systems.
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems with messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Spark.
- Experience with distributed and non-distributed databases such as Postgres, Cassandra, SingleStore, or ClickHouse.
- Knowledge of engineering best practices including testing, security, and agile development.
- Experience with production environments, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to balance ideal architecture with real-world constraints and influence, mentor, and collaborate across teams.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
