Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance algorithmic trading strategies and trading engines using core Java.
  • Develop, deploy, and support analytical tools and scalable trading infrastructure.
  • Improve the technical and execution performance of high-volume, low-latency trading systems.
  • Generate and analyze trading signals and data.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements through design, development, and deployment.
  • Work directly with trading, quant, IT, and technology product teams to advance supported platforms and businesses.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into well-designed, engineered solutions.
  • Guide junior staff and initiatives and manage multiple functions as needed.
  • Communicate with product leads about improvements to current and future technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Advanced Core Java knowledge, including Java 21 or later, in on-premises UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Experience developing automated trading systems, ideally for market-making and hedging in liquid markets.
  • Strong analytical, logical problem-solving, and software engineering abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively across trading, quant, IT, and technology teams.
  • User-level experience with Git/Stash and Jenkins; configuration and administration are rarely required.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit.
  • Good Linux fundamentals and strong communication skills.
  • Interest in learning the businesses supported by the applications.
  • Desired experience with reactive programming frameworks and techniques, FIX protocol, KDB/q time-series analysis, TypeScript, Angular, and low-latency publish/subscribe messaging middleware.
  • Desired familiarity with financial products, especially equity derivatives.
  • Desired experience with frontier agentic AI products such as Claude Code and Sourcegraph AMP.
