Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop critical Python data pipelines.
- Support curation teams in updating and building vocabularies and ontologies.
- Support delivery and maintenance of customer-facing solutions.
- Develop software that assists manual curation efforts.
- Develop and maintain automations across the organization.
- Identify potential collaborations across the wider Elsevier business.
Requirements
- Experience in software development, ideally with Python.
- BSc, MSc, or PhD in life sciences or a STEM field.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Beneficial experience with pytest or unittest, code reviews, UNIX command-line tools, version control, GitHub, cloud environments, Python GUI development, ontologies, XML, SQL, compute clusters, workflow management, and production environments.
