Responsibilities
- Support development teams in implementing, rolling out, and testing new features and products.
- Plan and build development, QA, and production infrastructure while meeting operational requirements and best practices.
- Maintain and improve existing systems.
- Participate in development of the UpCloud Kubernetes Service product.
- Perform daily operational tasks focused on software, automation, and monitoring to keep production running.
- Plan and execute change management and regular maintenance with minimal production impact.
Requirements
- Several years of Linux server administration experience and a good understanding of distributed computing systems.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of virtualization and storage systems.
- Experience with high-availability databases, preferably MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Scripting skills in Bash and Python.
- Automation and infrastructure-as-code experience with Ansible, Terraform, or OpenTofu.
- Ability to design and implement monitoring.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Basic knowledge of server and networking hardware and data centers.
- Proven problem-solving and solution-finding skills.
- Software development experience, a security-oriented mindset, and documentation and presentation skills are appreciated.
