Responsibilities
- Lead deployment, lifecycle management, upgrades, configuration, and optimization of enterprise observability platforms.
- Design and implement OpenTelemetry collection, instrumentation, and telemetry pipelines for metrics, logs, traces, and profiles.
- Own platform performance and reliability, including database tuning, observability data modeling, storage optimization, and incident troubleshooting.
- Automate operational processes using infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices, and implement platform monitoring and alerting.
- Collaborate with architects, platform engineering teams, and business stakeholders to build scalable observability solutions.
- Mentor engineers and promote scalability, security, and observability best practices.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related infrastructure-focused roles.
- Hands-on experience administering container orchestration platforms and managing production-scale infrastructure.
- Deep expertise in OpenTelemetry, including instrumentation, collectors, telemetry pipelines, and observability practices.
- Experience with observability platforms, telemetry data modeling, incident response, and monitoring strategies for high-volume environments.
- Strong automation and scripting skills using Python, Bash, or infrastructure-as-code technologies.
- Experience optimizing relational and analytical databases.
- Preferred experience operating Splunk, Dynatrace, MIMIR, LangSmith, or similar observability platforms.
- Preferred knowledge of time-series databases, query optimization, APM, distributed tracing, LLMOps, LLM applications, prompt evaluation, dataset management, prompt management, caching systems, message queues, and streaming components.
