Responsibilities
- Build and refine controls that protect customer accounts from account takeovers.
- Develop customer-facing controls in partnership with Product and Design.
- Improve financial crime detection capabilities with data scientists and data analysts.
- Design, build, and operate scalable systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- Own projects end to end, make data-driven product decisions, and increase automation levels.
- Mentor and help grow more junior engineers.
Requirements
- Professional experience with Java or other JVM-based languages and the Spring framework.
- Experience building and designing scalable web applications handling large amounts of traffic, ideally with React-based frontend applications and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and distributed and concurrent systems.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, and resilient schema design.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, problem-solving ability, and commitment to test-driven development and coding best practices.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts across Product, Data Science, and Investigations teams.
- Strong product mindset, accountability, independent project ownership, and customer-focused decision-making.
- Experience mentoring and growing more junior engineers.
- Familiarity with the machine learning lifecycle, including data pipelines, feature engineering, and deploying ML systems into production, is preferred.
