Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend APIs, services, and core Dataform capabilities for new features and platform functionality.
- Scope, design, and drive solutions for infrastructure bottlenecks while improving platform security and stability.
- Partner with front-end teams and Google Cloud service owners on API and system designs.
- Build scalable code management and pipeline orchestration solutions for Dataform and Google Cloud platforms.
- Monitor, debug, and provide production support, including on-call rotations, to maintain system health and reliable releases.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions while managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Two years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or one year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Preferred: two years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: experience designing, building, and scaling backend services, APIs, and data infrastructure.
- Preferred: experience with Kotlin, Java, Scala, or Go.
- Preferred: experience with data analytics and ETL tools.
- Preferred: experience debugging complex issues, improving platform stability and security, and writing testable, maintainable code.
- Preferred: understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, database and storage solutions, and system performance tuning.
