Responsibilities
- Define interfaces and develop solutions in partnership with principal engineers, product partners, and stakeholders.
- Optimize, refactor, modernize, and reuse code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Research complex problems, translate requirements into technical designs, and break projects into deliverable work.
- Improve code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and sound engineering practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across distributed systems.
- Implement secure programming patterns and enhance application security.
- Estimate project needs and dependencies, communicate progress, and drive work through completion.
- Collaborate with engineers across Poland and the United States and share technical knowledge.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools while independently reviewing and validating their output.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience working in a software development team environment.
- At least 3 years of experience creating applications and features in an object-oriented environment such as C# and .NET.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL, including database objects, queries, and data-focused application development.
- Experience designing or developing microservices, APIs, or distributed systems such as WebAPI and ServiceStack.
- Experience with Kubernetes or containerized application environments.
- Experience with code reviews, code optimization, unit testing, acceptance testing, and version control systems such as Git, GitHub, and TFS.
- Ability to independently research and design a small project, break down the work, and drive it to completion.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including communicating timelines and project progress.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and critically validating their output.
- Fluent English.
- Preferred experience with data streaming architecture and frameworks such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and ESB.
- Preferred experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, system integration, global projects, or large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, booking, pricing, or other business-critical systems is preferred.
