Responsibilities
- Build and run an Internal Developer Platform used by software teams and coding agents to write, test, ship, and operate code.
- Own software engineering infrastructure and workflows end to end, including source control, CI/CD, artefact management, secrets, and software environments.
- Evaluate and introduce effective developer tooling and engineering practices.
- Set technical direction and standards across teams through influence and adoption.
- Roll out coding agents and lead their use across engineering workflows.
- Run agentic AI evaluations, demonstrate benefits, and train teams in effective use.
- Build secure and transparent agent infrastructure, including sandboxing, permissioning, audit logging, and observability.
- Create fast, reproducible local, cloud, and target-representative development environments.
Requirements
- Substantial experience as a principal or staff software engineer.
- Demonstrable experience building developer platforms, internal tooling, and paved paths used by engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience implementing agentic AI in real engineering workflows beyond individual experimentation.
- Experience designing guardrails for agentic AI, such as sandboxing, permissioning, audit logging, or observability for tools with elevated access.
- Deep hands-on experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Experience building and deploying reproducible development environments.
- A record of driving adoption through persuasion and effective product decisions rather than mandate.
- Clear written communication and documentation skills.
- Candidates must be eligible for SC clearance; no prior defence experience is required.
