Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, upgrade, and further develop existing Elasticsearch clusters.
- Plan and implement migrations involving RHEL 8 to RHEL 9 and data transfers to newly built Elasticsearch clusters.
- Design and automate Elasticsearch snapshot and restore procedures, including monitoring.
- Maintain and extend Ansible playbooks and Rundeck automations for Elasticsearch operations, user management, and HashiCorp Vault integration.
- Build test environments and evaluate and implement migration approaches from Elasticsearch to OpenSearch.
- Develop Ansible playbooks and test OpenSearch features such as Document Level Security.
- Optionally restructure and extend Ansible playbooks for other platform areas such as Python Hosting and Redis.
- Collaborate closely with the existing team and communicate complex technical subjects clearly.
Requirements
- Practical experience operating Elasticsearch or OpenSearch clusters.
- Strong Ansible skills, including building and extending playbooks and roles.
- Strong Linux server skills, ideally with RHEL.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools, ideally Grafana and Telegraf.
- Structured, independent working style and the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly.
- Very good spoken and written German for project communication and interaction with German-speaking customers.
