Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure native Android applications for phones and tablets.
- Integrate Android applications with backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Develop Android user interfaces using Jetpack Compose and/or XML layouts while supporting multiple screen sizes and densities.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical roadmap planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product Management, UX Design, and QA to deliver business-critical features.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable code and independently deliver assigned features.
- Mentor and guide junior developers through knowledge sharing and code collaboration.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for potential adoption.
- Implement or contribute to automated testing, app performance optimization, push notifications, deep linking, offline data handling, release processes, analytics, and crash reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4–6 years of professional native Android application development experience.
- Strong Kotlin proficiency and solid working knowledge of the Android SDK.
- Hands-on experience with Android Activities, Fragments, Services, Broadcast Receivers, Content Providers, and the Android app lifecycle.
- Android UI development experience with Jetpack Compose and/or XML layouts, including Material Design and support for multiple screen sizes and densities.
- Experience with Android Jetpack libraries, Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, MVVM, RESTful APIs, Retrofit, OkHttp, JSON parsing, and Git.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, analytical, and independent delivery skills.
- Preferred experience with modular multi-module Android applications, dependency injection using Hilt, Dagger, or Koin, and app security concepts.
- Preferred native iOS experience with Swift and SwiftUI/UIKit.
- Preferred automated testing experience with JUnit, Espresso, and Compose testing.
- Preferred familiarity with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bitrise, Jenkins, R8, ProGuard, FCM, Firebase Crashlytics, Play Store release processes, and Microsoft Intune.
