Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain capabilities for the Backbase Mobile Platform in collaboration with Principal Engineers.
- Build and maintain SDKs and libraries for mobile Identity and Authentication experiences.
- Write clean, maintainable Swift code using native Apple technologies and modern iOS frameworks.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical designs and production-ready implementations.
- Automate testing and work with QA to achieve at least 80% unit test coverage using XCTest and XCUITest.
- Contribute across requirements gathering, implementation, testing, documentation, and product adoption support.
- Lead initiatives that improve engineering standards, practices, and engineering excellence within the squad.
- Support CI/CD practices and explore AI tools and agentic frameworks for code generation, test automation, and developer productivity.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in native iOS development.
- Strong proficiency in Swift and practical experience with Objective-C.
- Professional experience developing applications in fintech, banking, or payments.
- Expertise with modern iOS architecture patterns such as MVVM, VIPER, and Clean Architecture.
- Experience with SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, or RxSwift.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and GraphQL and implementing asynchronous programming with GCD, async/await, or Combine.
- Strong understanding of mobile security practices, including Keychain and biometrics.
- Experience with Git and version control systems.
- Passion for AI/ML development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, and Xcode AI.
- Preferred: knowledge of mobile application security and data encryption standards.
- Preferred: experience with Swift Package Manager, CocoaPods, Firebase, Crashlytics, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Preferred: experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and publishing iOS applications to the Apple App Store.
