Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automation for provisioning, configuration, decommissioning, patching, certificate renewal, backup verification, log rotation, account administration, and service restarts across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Convert manual runbooks into tested, repeatable, parameterized automation and deliver safe self-service capabilities.
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, Terraform configurations, and infrastructure modules.
- Build event-driven automation and automated remediation for known failure conditions using monitoring alerts and platform events.
- Write tested, peer-reviewed automation code in Python, PowerShell, and Bash, manage it in Git, and document operation and failure behavior.
- Handle credentials and secrets through approved services, collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams, and contribute to incident response and follow-up actions.
Requirements
- Typically two to four years of professional experience in infrastructure, operations, or automation engineering.
- Practical scripting ability in at least one of Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management or automation tooling, ideally Ansible.
- Working knowledge of Linux or Windows server administration and familiarity with Azure or AWS.
- Experience using Git for version control.
- Clear written and verbal communication in English, with a methodical troubleshooting approach and attention to production systems.
- Preferred qualifications include Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code experience; Ansible Automation Platform, AWX, or Event-Driven Ansible; containers, Kubernetes, or CI/CD exposure; observability tooling experience; regulated-environment experience; relevant certifications; and a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related discipline.
