Responsibilities
- Lead BMS algorithms for SOC/SOH estimation, cell balancing, thermal management, thermal runaway prediction, and remaining useful life estimation.
- Drive motor control software development for FOC, PMSM/IPMSM systems, SVPWM, MTPA, flux weakening, sensorless control, and regenerative braking.
- Lead OBC control software for AC/DC, bidirectional V2G, PFC, LLC resonant converters, digital control, and grid-code compliance.
- Implement ISO 15118 application-layer charging, EXI encoding/decoding, PLC communication, wireless charging, and session management.
- Design VEMS algorithms for predictive range estimation, GPS and traffic-aware energy management, regenerative braking, auxiliary loads, and power-split optimization.
- Mentor engineers in electrification algorithms, AUTOSAR SWC design, and safety mechanisms.
- Interface with OEM and Tier 1 powertrain and energy-management teams for requirements, calibration, reviews, and delivery sign-off.
- Lead ASIL D safety software design reviews, safety requirement allocation, peer reviews, and confirmation-measure coordination.
- Manage ASPICE Level 2/3 development processes and ISO 26262 lifecycle workflows.
- Contribute to technical proposals and electrification demonstrations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience; the posting additionally describes a typical requirement of 6–10 years in automotive electrification, xEV embedded systems, BMS, motor control, OBC, or powertrain.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Power Electronics, Automotive Engineering, or Computer Science, with 15 years of full-time education.
- Advanced C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink proficiency with BMS or motor-control electrification algorithm experience.
- Hands-on BMS development experience covering SOC, SOH, SOE estimation, cell balancing, and thermal-management control.
- Strong motor-control expertise with FOC, PMSM, IPMSM, SVPWM, MTPA, flux weakening, and regenerative-braking control.
- Experience with ISO 26262, ASIL D software safety requirements, safety mechanisms, and confirmation measures.
- Knowledge of ISO 15118/20 charging implementation, EXI, PLC, HomePlug Green PHY, and TLS 1.2/1.3.
- AUTOSAR Classic SWC design and RTE configuration experience for electrification ECU components.
- Debugging experience using oscilloscope-based inverter waveform analysis, CAN trace analysis, and battery data logging.
- Preferred experience with physics-based battery models, PHEV/HEV energy-management optimization, wireless charging standards, SiC MOSFET considerations, and battery-cell chemistry calibration.
