Responsibilities
- Collect and structure data from test stations and route it into shared storage and downstream pipelines.
- Build and maintain database-backed GraphQL APIs, S3-based storage, and data-processing pipelines.
- Develop and maintain a stable, documented SDK for other engineering teams.
- Build internal visualization and analytics tools for production and test data.
- Design, deploy, monitor, operate, and troubleshoot AWS-based systems end to end.
- Partner with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing engineers to turn loosely specified needs into reliable tooling.
- Make system design decisions involving schemas, API contracts, storage, scalability, and failure modes.
Requirements
- Professional-level Python with an emphasis on clean interfaces and maintainable code.
- Some experience reading and writing C or C++.
- Understanding of system design, data models, API design, scalability, and failure modes.
- Working DevOps knowledge covering CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and logging.
- Experience building and maintaining backend services or APIs backed by a real database, using REST or GraphQL.
- A track record of shipping tools used by other engineers.
- Ability to work across backend, data pipelines, lightweight frontend, and SDK development.
- Preferred: hands-on AWS experience with Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudFront, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Preferred: infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Preferred: GraphQL experience including schema design, resolvers, and federation.
- Preferred: experience with internal dashboards or visualization tools such as Streamlit, Dash, or Grafana.
- Preferred: containerized deployment experience using Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
