Responsibilities
- Establish collaborative processes and roadmaps for designing, implementing, validating, and delivering software library capabilities.
- Lead cross-functional scoping of architectures and design adaptations and establish technical governance strategies across engineering teams.
- Review technical designs and engineering approaches for constraints, performance, and roadmap alignment.
- Research technologies and methodologies that improve software performance and organizational efficiency, including agentically assisted development workflows.
- Identify at-risk plans, develop team-uplift strategies, and support technical staff in executing them.
- Convert tacit engineering knowledge into documentation, self-service resources, and other institutional artifacts.
- Own strategies for engineering best practices and drive their adoption with program and product stakeholders.
- Participate in hiring and help identify engineering talent while partnering with technical managers.
Requirements
- Applied systems engineering experience improving technical delivery and the software lifecycle, including build robustness, regression and performance management, deployment, operations, and orchestration management.
- Leadership experience driving cross-functional contributions to open-source or internal software development projects.
- Experience maturing software development teams or organizations through best practices, technical governance, coaching, and mentoring frameworks.
- Ability to independently conduct and direct structured research and produce executive, peer-reviewed technical, and summary documents.
- Hands-on experience converting tacit knowledge into institutional artifacts and demonstrating successful outcomes with peers and colleagues.
- Advanced degrees such as an M.Sc., M.Eng., or Ph.D. are preferred.
