Responsibilities
- Establish cross-team processes and software roadmaps for designing, implementing, validating, and integrating software library capabilities.
- Lead engineering scoping for new architectures and design adaptations while establishing technical governance strategies across engineering teams.
- Review technical designs and engineering approaches for constraints, performance, and roadmap alignment.
- Research technologies and methodologies that improve software performance and organizational efficiency.
- Identify delivery risks, develop team uplift strategies, and guide technical staff in executing them.
- Convert tacit knowledge into documentation, self-service resources, and other institutional artifacts.
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices and participate in identifying and hiring engineering talent.
- Conduct, direct, and mentor structured research and produce executive, peer-reviewed, and technical documents.
Requirements
- Applied systems engineering experience improving technical delivery and the software lifecycle, including build robustness, regression and performance management, deployment, operations, and orchestration management.
- Leadership experience driving cross-functional contributions to open-source or inner-source software development projects.
- Experience maturing software teams or organizations through best practices, technical governance, coaching, and mentoring frameworks.
- Ability to independently conduct and direct structured research and communicate findings through technical and executive documentation.
- Advanced degrees such as an M.Sc., M.Eng., or Ph.D. are preferred.
- Strong technical judgment, structured thinking, cross-functional influence, and experience working in ambiguous environments.
