Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end from understanding customer needs through design, implementation, release, monitoring, and iteration.
- Build and scale backend services in Go, APIs, and product interfaces in TypeScript and React.
- Model and present large volumes of AI cost and usage data for FinOps practitioners and platform engineers.
- Develop API-first capabilities that can be used by both humans and agents.
- Understand AI spend, token and model pricing, inference and GPU economics, and usage allocation across teams and initiatives.
- Set engineering standards through design reviews, guardrails, sound engineering practices, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
- Use AI tools across coding, debugging, testing, documentation, codebase exploration, and vendor API investigation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including work on multi-tenant SaaS products and end-to-end production ownership.
- Strong experience with Go for backend services, APIs, data processing, and operations.
- Strong TypeScript and modern React experience with attention to effective data presentation.
- Ability to own full-stack features from data modeling through user interface development.
- Experience building on public cloud, preferably GCP, or AWS or Azure.
- Working proficiency in SQL against an analytical store such as BigQuery.
- Product-oriented judgment, architectural knowledge, and the ability to set direction for others.
- Experience using AI tools throughout the software engineering workflow and ability to discuss their benefits and limitations.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience, knowledge of FinOps and FinOps products, and a portfolio of completed work.
