Responsibilities
- Improve existing test suites by adding efficient, maintainable, and readable tests.
- Create test artefacts and automated test scripts against user stories in line with the agreed test strategy.
- Maintain test traceability, identify defects, and work with squad teams to provide fixes and prevent defect leakage.
- Capture lessons learned and apply testing frameworks, patterns, and best practices across the lab.
- Support testing transformation, introduce innovative quality practices, and seek opportunities for improvement.
- Support junior colleagues and help build capabilities across the directorate.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of experience.
- Experience working in a dynamic agile delivery environment and testing web applications.
- Experience defining quality engineering deliverables and producing test artefacts.
- Technical expertise in BDD, ATDD, shift-left continuous testing, and automation-first testing.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages including JavaScript, Java, and Visual Basic Script.
- Good knowledge of databases, ETL batches, and SQL.
- Proficiency with Selenium, Cucumber, Saucelabs, Jenkins, Gherkin, Unified Functional Testing Tool, CypressIO, and NodeJS.
- DevOps and CI/CD expertise, including tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Harness, and UCD.
- Mainframe/COBOL, batch processing, data storage, and data analysis experience are listed as secondary skills.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, analytical, communication, teamwork, adaptability, and attention-to-detail skills.
