Base Salary
$140k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own backend/platform services for Glean’s runtime infrastructure.
- Develop Kubernetes-based runtime primitives across multi-cloud environments.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to facilitate service deployment and operations.
- Drive improvements in latency, resource utilization, and cost for platform services.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code patterns and observability for production services.
- Partner with teams to maintain efficiency as customer traffic increases.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident responses.
- Contribute to the technical direction and roadmap for Runtime Infra.
Requirements
- Experience as a backend/platform engineer with a focus on shared systems.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and high-throughput services.
- Ability to own systems end-to-end, from design to ongoing operations.
- Knowledge of reliability practices, including SLOs and incident response.
- Pragmatic approach to balancing ideal architectures with startup constraints.
- Clear communication skills for collaboration with infra and product engineers.
- Excitement for working in a multi-cloud, multi-tenant environment.
