Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, and mentor a team of Java developers while reviewing technical work and supporting delivery quality.
- Develop, enhance, test, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot scalable Java-based enterprise applications and systems.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, development tasks, implementation plans, and delivery outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, manage dependencies, and support engineering decisions.
- Apply coding standards, testing practices, documentation requirements, secure development practices, and enterprise delivery processes.
- Troubleshoot defects, performance issues, integration challenges, data-access problems, and production incidents.
- Contribute to microservices architecture, cloud computing, containerization, automation, monitoring, and resource optimization where appropriate.
- Review technical designs, code, test results, and implementation plans to identify risks and improve solution quality.
- Track delivery progress, communicate risks and dependencies, and support continuous improvement across the development team.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional Java development experience, including enterprise application delivery.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating Java developers and technical delivery activities.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting Java applications in large enterprise environments.
- Experience with Java development tools, source control, code reviews, defect tracking, build management, testing, deployment, and technical documentation.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, or comparable iterative software development methodologies.
- Experience with relational or enterprise data stores, data models, queries, transactions, persistence, validation, and data-access troubleshooting.
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience contributing to application delivery in cloud-based or hybrid environments.
- Experience with Java frameworks and libraries, application layers, service components, dependency management, configuration, and integration patterns.
- Preferred experience with Java SE 11 or later, microservices, cloud-native development, containerized applications, continuous integration and delivery, monitoring, and database optimization.
- Understanding of secure software development, authentication, authorization, input validation, secure error handling, sensitive-data protection, access controls, vulnerability management, and security standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
- Advanced Java development certification, such as Java SE 11 Developer certification, is preferred.
