Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, integration, modernization, and implementation of enterprise applications supporting digital solutions, automation, and infrastructure initiatives.
- Define application architecture strategies, standards, governance practices, technology roadmaps, and technical documentation.
- Design scalable, secure, resilient, high-performing application solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
- Lead API, web service, middleware, and enterprise platform integration efforts.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle and guide architecture reviews, coding standards, and technology selection.
- Evaluate existing systems and emerging technologies to identify modernization, optimization, automation, and digital transformation opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, developers, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, and operations teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Supervise technical teams, assign priorities, monitor performance, mentor personnel, and support professional development.
- Support performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, business continuity, disaster recovery, high availability, deployment, and transition activities.
- Participate in project planning, risk management, budgeting, resource allocation, executive briefings, technical reviews, and stakeholder meetings.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, federal standards, security, privacy, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- At least 9 years of directly related experience in application architecture, software engineering, systems design, or enterprise application development.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or technical leadership experience directing teams and managing technical activities.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of application architecture principles, software design patterns, system integration, application security, identity management, and secure software development.
- Experience supporting cloud-based, hybrid, and on-premises application environments and developing architecture documentation, solution designs, and implementation roadmaps.
- Experience with API design, web services, microservices architectures, and enterprise integrations.
- Knowledge of SDLC methodologies including Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, and Waterfall.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include DHS or CISA program experience; digital transformation, automation, and application modernization leadership; Azure, AWS, or GCP experience; DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD tools, and infrastructure automation experience; TOGAF, FEAF, or Zachman knowledge; COTS, SaaS, or custom application integration experience; relevant architecture, security, or project management certifications; and Zero Trust, IAM, or enterprise security architecture experience.
