Base Salary
$192k - $455k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build high-throughput backend services for real-time operational data.
- Lead technical design reviews and make architecture and system-improvement decisions.
- Design resilient, observable, performance-tuned event-driven and distributed systems.
- Define stable APIs and partner with frontend teams on integration.
- Improve engineering standards through code reviews, testing strategy, incident practices, and technical guidance.
- Build and maintain CI/CD workflows for rapid and secure delivery.
- Troubleshoot production issues, lead incident response, and drive durable fixes.
- Translate product and operational needs into technical plans and contribute to backend strategy and roadmap planning.
- Mentor engineers and support hiring through interviews and evaluation standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years building scalable backend systems in production environments.
- 4+ years of experience in Go, or equivalent server-side or systems-language experience with strong system design aptitude.
- Experience leading technical initiatives end-to-end, including architecture, execution, and delivery.
- Experience designing distributed systems, including event-driven architectures, messaging, and consistency tradeoffs.
- Experience building and operating cloud-native services in production; AWS experience is preferred.
- Strong security fundamentals, including secure coding, threat modeling, and defensible design.
- A track record of mentoring engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and feedback.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to align teams around technical decisions.
- Preferred experience with graph databases such as Neo4j or AWS Neptune.
- Preferred experience with relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, or MariaDB and query-performance reasoning.
- Preferred experience with defense, intelligence, or security-focused products, large-scale data processing, or practical ML/AI integrations.
- Open-source contributions or personal projects demonstrating strong engineering craft are preferred.
- U.S. citizenship is required; some positions may require eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
