Base Salary

$191k - $211k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data-driven engineering strategies, approaches, and roadmaps.
  • Manage delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, estimation, capacity analysis, and release tracking.
  • Contribute to technical planning, architecture decisions, design reviews, and tradeoff evaluations.
  • Collaborate with product, quality engineering, operations, infrastructure, compliance, vendors, and third-party partners.
  • Gather, analyze, and present testing, quality, engineering, and operational metrics for readiness and release decisions.
  • Establish engineering best practices for security, reliability, observability, maintainability, change management, and version control.
  • Lead code and design reviews, mentor and coach engineers, and improve onboarding and technical excellence.
  • Evaluate technologies, frameworks, workflows, and architectural improvements for current and future initiatives.
  • Support production releases and launches through validation, troubleshooting, post-release activities, and coordination with internal and external teams.
  • Travel domestically to Fanatics offices and events for meetings, planning sessions, and team activities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least five years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a role developing and implementing data-driven engineering strategies and roadmaps.
  • At least five years of experience developing Java backend services, REST-based APIs, business logic, concurrent workflows, and scalable modular or microservices architectures.
  • At least five years of experience developing web-based user interfaces with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • At least five years of experience with HTML and CSS-based user interface layers, responsive layouts, cross-browser compatibility, and Bootstrap, LESS, or SASS.
  • At least five years of experience implementing real-time web application updates with WebSocket communication and JSON message formats.
  • At least five years of experience with Jenkins or Docker in automated build, test, deployment, and release workflows.
  • At least five years of experience supporting complex platforms that integrate software applications with external systems, devices, or hardware.
  • At least five years of experience in Agile software development environments, quality engineering collaboration, production releases, cross-functional stakeholder communication, and technical system improvement.
  • Experience evaluating scalability and maintainability gaps and recommending architectural or design enhancements aligned with long-term product direction.

  • Up to 15% domestic travel is required for meetings, events, office visits, and team activities.
