Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and implement reference architectures for AWS and hybrid cloud/on-premises environments.
- Define multi-account, multi-environment, network segmentation, compute, and storage deployment patterns.
- Establish AWS landing zones with account structures, guardrails, logging, tagging, and cost controls.
- Build and maintain production-grade Terraform modules and reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns.
- Architect and support VMware/vSphere virtualized compute fleets, including images, patching, and provisioning workflows.
- Implement secure-by-design architectures using least-privilege IAM, encryption, and centralized audit logging.
- Design backup, restore, disaster recovery, resilience, and multi-Availability Zone strategies.
- Enable infrastructure CI/CD through Git-based workflows integrated with Terraform plans and applies.
- Provide standardized environments and deployment blueprints to application teams.
- Produce architecture documentation, diagrams, environment definitions, and as-built artifacts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of the degree.
- 15+ years of experience in cloud architecture, systems engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience as an AWS architect or lead.
- Deep expertise in AWS core services and secure cloud architectures, including networking, IAM, logging, compute, and storage.
- Hands-on expertise with Terraform, including modules, state management, promotion strategies, and drift detection.
- Experience designing and operating hybrid cloud and on-premises virtualization environments.
- Ability to translate requirements into scalable, maintainable, secure architectures and provide implementation guidance.
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance required.
- Active passport or ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 10%.
- AWS certifications, especially Solutions Architect Professional, are preferred.
- Experience with VMware/vSphere architecture and operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with Ansible, Packer, GitOps-style workflows, observability patterns, AWS Organizations, service control policies, tagging, and budgets is preferred.
