Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and support backend projects that improve Atlas Search scalability.
  • Build and maintain distributed systems for data ingestion, index building, partitioning, performance, availability, and backup management.
  • Contribute to system architecture, technical decisions, and the team roadmap.
  • Lead projects and take ownership of subsystems from initial design through production maintenance.
  • Review code and project designs and propose improvements to code, products, and team processes.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining industrial-strength backend software in a complex codebase.
  • Experience developing distributed systems and cloud services.
  • Experience with at least one modern statically typed programming language and interest in working with Java.
  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
  • Collaborative approach, growth mindset, willingness to learn, and strong ownership of production software.
