Responsibilities
- Analyze telemetry and trace data to understand software and hardware behavior on individual devices and at scale.
- Investigate system issues using debugging and performance-analysis tools.
- Identify optimization opportunities and contribute to designing and implementing improvements.
- Develop, test, and maintain code across operating-system and application layers.
- Evaluate solutions with data and use results to support engineering decisions.
- Collaborate with team members and partner teams to improve the Windows ecosystem.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with proven coding experience in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Preferred experience in software development, debugging, systems analysis, operating systems, system-level development, performance analysis, power optimization, telemetry, data analysis, statistics, or cloud data platforms.
- Preferred familiarity with Windows internals, software engineering fundamentals, testing, code quality, and maintainability.
- Preferred experience from coursework, internships, projects, or professional work, along with strong programming, analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and technical communication skills.
