Base Salary
$235k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, and maintain PitchBook backend services and architecture-related frontend components.
- Define, measure, and continuously evaluate platform and product non-functional requirements.
- Document current-state and future-state architecture, phasing, trade-offs, and architectural decisions.
- Implement testable, efficient, performant, scalable, reliable code that meets product and organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders in an Agile environment.
- Provide technical guidance, conduct architectural reviews, and promote architecture principles and practices across teams.
- Lead end-to-end initiatives with little to no guidance.
- Improve products through incident root-cause analysis and return-on-experience processes.
- Support company initiatives and model the company’s values and desired behaviors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field, with 8+ years of software development or engineering experience; alternatively, 6+ years with a master’s degree or 3+ years with a PhD.
- 4+ years of experience with Java or a similar object-oriented language and 2+ years developing microservices.
- Experience with service-oriented and microservices architecture, cloud architecture, Domain Driven Design, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, architecture patterns, and RESTful API design.
- Experience with middleware, platforms, systems of systems, web technologies and standards such as JSON and JWT, and AWS and/or GCP.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and container orchestration software such as Kubernetes.
- Proven experience designing agentic AI systems with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex for complex reasoning tasks.
- Experience designing Model Context Protocol interfaces and integrations for secure access to structured and unstructured data.
- Experience designing AI-native data backends with schemas oriented for LLM consumption.
- Experience using AI productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Gemini CLI.
- Ability to lead across the software development lifecycle, guide junior peers across multiple teams, solve complex problems, and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
