Base Salary
$102k - $138k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, ship, and maintain well-scoped software features, fixes, and improvements for mission-critical environments.
- Contribute to implementation plans, design discussions, technical decisions, code reviews, testing, and releases with guidance from senior engineers.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and end users to translate requirements into working software.
- Debug issues, improve reliability, and participate in production support, troubleshooting, incident follow-up, and shared on-call practices.
- Integrate with existing defense systems while learning interoperability and security expectations.
- Contribute scoped issues, fixes, documentation, and improvements to open source projects and internal tooling.
- Create and maintain implementation notes, runbooks, user guides, and other technical documentation.
- Progress toward larger feature ownership, stronger architectural judgment, and cross-functional communication as experience grows.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of software engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of Go or another modern programming language.
- Foundational understanding of software design, APIs, databases, and cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
- Exposure to software lifecycle and delivery tools or projects.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts including Controllers, Operators, and CRDs, or interest in learning them.
- Familiarity with supply chain security concepts such as SBOMs, signing, and scanning, or interest in learning them.
- Open source contributions through coursework, personal projects, internships, or professional work are preferred.
- Ability to break down problems, learn quickly, deliver pragmatic solutions with team support, and communicate clearly.
- U.S. citizenship is required; travel expectation is 0–5%.
