Base Salary

$110k - $165k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain software, data pipelines, dashboards, and automation for cloud spend, infrastructure utilization, cost per transaction or activation, capacity, reliability, and engineering productivity.
  • Translate budgets, forecasts, unit economics, and business cases into engineering requirements and measurable optimization initiatives with Engineering and Finance stakeholders.
  • Analyze cloud, platform, and data workloads to identify cost anomalies, inefficient resource use, redundant services, and opportunities to optimize storage, compute, data movement, and workload placement.
  • Implement AI- and analytics-enabled solutions for operational automation, forecasting, anomaly detection, delivery acceleration, and engineering and financial decision-making.
  • Design and deliver scalable, available, secure, and maintainable cloud-native services using infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
  • Create integrations between engineering telemetry, cloud billing data, financial planning inputs, and executive reporting while validating data quality and documenting controls.
  • Support capacity planning, cost allocation, tagging, chargeback, and forecasting processes across engineering teams.
  • Develop unit and integration tests, troubleshoot production and data-quality issues, and follow engineering, security, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Communicate technical findings, business value, tradeoffs, risks, and realized savings to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Reduce technical debt, simplify operational workflows, share reusable patterns, and coach teammates on cost-conscious engineering practices.
  • Maintain regular attendance and work nights, weekends, or variable schedules as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience using languages such as Python, Go, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, Rust, or Scala.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider and knowledge of cloud billing, resource tagging, usage metrics, or cost-management concepts.
  • Experience with LLM, RAG, MCP, or agentic AI concepts.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Terraform.
  • Experience with microservices, containers, and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, or OKE.
  • Strong SQL skills and exposure to data and analytics platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Presto, EMR, PostgreSQL, or Aerospike.
  • Experience building dashboards, automated reporting, data pipelines, or observability solutions using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, or business intelligence platforms.
  • Ability to analyze technical and financial data, quantify tradeoffs, debug scoped issues, and convert findings into practical engineering actions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across Engineering, Finance, Product, Architecture, Data, Platform, SRE, compliance, and end-user teams.
  • Ability to balance delivery, reliability, security, cost, and maintainability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adtech, FinOps, cloud cost optimization, forecasting, AI-assisted engineering, or advertising and audience-platform experience is preferred but not required.
