Responsibilities
- Debug complex full-stack issues across distributed systems and production environments.
- Design and implement performant RESTful APIs and real-time communication patterns for reliable data synchronization.
- Build and maintain enterprise software with strict security, performance, scalability, and availability requirements.
- Write and maintain production Java code and make architectural decisions for JVM-based systems.
- Own code quality through comprehensive testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations to maintain high availability and troubleshoot production issues.
- Conduct technical research, present proposals, facilitate architecture discussions, and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery by defining milestones, identifying risks, communicating with stakeholders, and coordinating distributed-system deployments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional backend or full-stack software development experience.
- Experience partnering with engineers, leading technical designs, or driving engineering initiatives across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex systems and troubleshoot difficult production issues.
- Experience developing enterprise software with attention to security, performance optimization, and compliance.
- Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale, including eventual consistency, fault tolerance, and high availability.
- Ability to design and implement RESTful APIs, webhooks, WebSockets, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong production Java experience and deep understanding of JVM-based systems.
- Ability to incorporate AI tools into coding, debugging, and documentation workflows while retaining independent technical judgment.
- Preferred experience with Salesforce development, Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce APIs, or the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Preferred experience building Slack apps, using Slack APIs, or working with Slack real-time messaging architecture.
- Preferred experience with observability, user-engagement instrumentation, complex integrations, and real-time messaging or notification systems.
- Preferred experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Vue, Lightning Web Components, or similar frontend frameworks.
- Preferred experience integrating generative AI APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic, Salesforce Einstein AI, guardrails, and monitoring.
- Preferred experience with Hack or similar typed languages in high-performance web environments.
