Responsibilities
- Debug complex full-stack distributed-system issues and troubleshoot production problems.
- Design and implement performant RESTful APIs and real-time communication patterns, including webhooks, websockets, and event-driven architectures.
- Build scalable enterprise software with strong security, performance, reliability, and availability characteristics.
- Own code quality through comprehensive testing, code reviews, technical research, and architecture proposals.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, UX designers, and engineering teams across Salesforce and Slack.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and mentor or partner with engineers on technical designs.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects by defining milestones, identifying risks, communicating with stakeholders, and coordinating distributed-system deployments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and maintain well-supported, highly available applications.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional backend or full-stack software development experience.
- Experience partnering with engineers, leading technical designs, or driving engineering initiatives across teams.
- Expertise debugging complex systems across the full stack and resolving difficult production issues.
- Background in enterprise software development, including security, performance optimization, and compliance requirements.
- Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale, including knowledge of eventual consistency, fault tolerance, and high availability.
- Proven ability to design and implement RESTful APIs and real-time communication patterns.
- Strong production Java experience and deep understanding of JVM-based systems.
- Ability to use AI tools for coding, debugging, and documentation while retaining independent problem-solving and technical judgment.
- Salesforce development or ecosystem familiarity, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, or Salesforce APIs, is preferred.
- Slack app, Slack API, real-time messaging architecture, observability, product integration, frontend, generative AI, or Hack experience is preferred.
