Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve backend services supporting order intake, validation, execution, status updates, and post-trade processing.
- Develop reliable, scalable, observable services with Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot in a distributed, event-driven architecture.
- Design integrations with internal platforms and external trading venues for time-sensitive financial data processing.
- Contribute across the full service lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Design and operate APIs, persistence, and high-throughput systems with strong requirements for correctness, availability, security, performance, and auditability.
- Collaborate with product, operations, risk, and engineering stakeholders to model complex trading workflows.
- Improve reliability, automation, observability, developer experience, and operational processes.
Requirements
- University degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- Strong professional experience building production backend services with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and operating distributed, event-driven, high-availability systems with clear service and API boundaries.
- Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design and complex business-workflow modeling.
- Experience with latency-sensitive, high-throughput systems, including performance analysis, monitoring, capacity planning, and failure-mode design.
- Experience designing, operating, and optimizing relational and NoSQL data persistence, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or DynamoDB.
- Commitment to clean, secure, testable, documented, and maintainable code and production service ownership.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development and operations, ideally including AWS, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability tooling.
- Strong analytical, collaboration, and communication skills across technical and business stakeholder groups.
- Experience with gRPC services and protobuf-based API design is a plus.
- Experience with financial-market systems involving strict operational controls and auditability is a strong plus.
