Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance platform services connecting the core remote connectivity platform with the DEX platform.
- Define architecture, design features, and develop services using Java, Spring, and Kotlin.
- Implement authentication and authorization federation, token exchange, service principals, user-context authentication, auditing, and service-to-service communication.
- Design and implement secure, documented APIs and highly available database systems.
- Continuously integrate, build, test, and deploy containerized solutions from test environments to production.
- Ensure software is secure, stable, scalable, and efficient while monitoring technical developments and proposing improvements.
- Make architectural decisions for large-scale distributed systems and cross-platform integrations.
- Conduct feasibility studies, proofs of concept, and prototypes to estimate new functionality.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and guide team members on engineering best practices and Secure SDLC.
- Advise product owners on feasibility and time estimates and collaborate with DEX platform teams on interfaces, contracts, and integration flows.
Requirements
- University degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related subject.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, Kotlin, and SQL.
- Strong understanding of authentication and authorization concepts, including OAuth2/OIDC, token exchange, service-to-service authentication, and user-context authentication.
- Hands-on experience with cloud services, managed Kubernetes, Redis, key vaults, message brokers, PostgreSQL, Docker containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with the Docker and Kubernetes ecosystem, including local work in Docker Desktop.
- Experience with a unit testing framework.
- Experience making architectural decisions for large-scale distributed systems and platform or service integrations.
- Knowledge of Secure SDLC principles, OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and remediation, and threat modeling.
- Understanding of clean code and design patterns for object-oriented programming.
- Proven ability and willingness to mentor and coach junior engineers, with strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of .NET and C# backend services is a plus.
- Experience with parallel programming, multithreading, test automation, network communications, or digital certificates/PKI is desirable.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Copilot is a plus.
