Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end backend design and implementation of scalable API-driven systems.
- Lead development of Node.js and TypeScript microservices for payments, onboarding, and money movement workflows.
- Design and build RESTful APIs, backend services, and event-driven applications hosted on AWS.
- Define standards for API design, service communication, data flow, event-driven patterns, security, observability, and governance.
- Guide API Gateway, service mesh, integration framework, testing, static analysis, security scanning, and CI/CD practices.
- Troubleshoot complex distributed-system issues and optimize performance, latency, memory usage, and data processing.
- Lead design discussions, API reviews, technical roadmap planning, and mentoring of developers.
- Collaborate with Product, Frontend, QA, Cloud, Security, and Architecture teams.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of backend development experience with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and Express or NestJS.
- Deep knowledge of REST APIs, microservices architecture, integration patterns, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, and RDS.
- Strong database experience with SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and distributed data systems.
- Experience with Kafka, SNS, and SQS messaging systems.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Kong API Gateway and API lifecycle management.
- Exposure to security best practices and DevSecOps workflows.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Exposure to AI/LLM integrations and real-time processing is preferred.
