Responsibilities
- Drive technical strategy, architecture, and execution for hyperscale cloud platforms and deployment systems.
- Design and deliver large-scale infrastructure and platform investments.
- Build secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable distributed systems.
- Influence engineering direction through architectural leadership and technical decision-making.
- Improve operational excellence through automation, observability, and reliability engineering.
- Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, compliance, accessibility, and service-reliability standards.
- Mentor engineers and foster engineering excellence across teams.
- Partner with global Microsoft teams to deliver business impact at scale.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field and 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience with systems thinking, architectural design, geo-distributed engineering initiatives, highly available distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, platform services, or developer platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, design, coding, and debugging skills.
- Experience leveraging AI technologies for platform and infrastructure challenges.
- Ability to mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and collaborate with global stakeholders.
