Backend / Systems Agentic Engineer (SG)

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines for Arta’s investment and wealth management platform.
- Make architectural decisions concerning system design, data modeling, service boundaries, and infrastructure.
- Write clean, tested, and observable code while using AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor.
- Build and integrate LLM- and agent-powered backend capabilities, including automated workflows, intelligent data processing, and agent-driven user experiences.
- Optimize distributed services for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Integrate with third-party financial APIs, brokerage systems, market data providers, and cloud infrastructure.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting with tools such as Sentry and Datadog, and participate in on-call and incident response.
- Drive engineering practices for code review, testing, and evaluation of AI- and agent-driven systems.
- Partner with product, design, frontend engineering, and ML engineering to turn ambiguous problems into backend solutions.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of backend software development experience with strong proficiency in Python or a similar language.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, RESTful and/or gRPC APIs, microservices, and SQL and NoSQL database systems.
- Experience designing for reliability, performance, and security in production environments.
- Fluency with AI coding tools and demonstrated use of them to improve output and code quality.
- Experience building with LLMs and/or agent frameworks, including tool use, function calling, MCP, or evals, or strong aptitude to ramp up quickly.
- Prior experience with trading platforms, brokerage systems, or financial infrastructure is a plus but not required.
- Strong problem-solving, independent working, communication, and collaboration skills.
