Base Salary
$124k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive and deliver strategy for operating broad use of AWS public cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, EFS, CloudWatch, and EKS.
- Guide application teams through public cloud onboarding and ensure applications meet strict non-functional requirements.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for the public cloud platform, including production incident response and escalation management.
- Improve platform resiliency, availability, security, performance, reliability, and time to resolve production issues.
- Debug and optimize systems, automate routine infrastructure tasks, and monitor system metrics and program health.
- Evaluate production readiness through game days, resiliency testing, and chaos engineering exercises.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify production risks, remove blockers, and improve user experiences.
- Use AI/LLM tools to enable self-service diagnosis of infrastructure errors and failures.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Deep understanding of business technology drivers and their effects on architecture, performance, monitoring, and best practices.
- Experience building or supporting web environments on AWS, including EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3.
- Experience with cloud-based DevOps tools such as Ansible, Artifactory, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Maven.
- Experience across software development lifecycle activities including design, development, and/or support.
- Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Datadog.
- Experience writing Infrastructure-as-Code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience with one or more public cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience automating infrastructure tasks using Python or other programming languages.
- Knowledge of using AI/LLM tools to diagnose infrastructure errors and failures.
- Preferred: proactive identification of problems, improvement opportunities, and performance bottlenecks, with an SRE-oriented approach to operational engineering.
