Base Salary
$233k - $326k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the organization-wide client architecture strategy for video creation, editing, and uploading in shared composers.
- Establish patterns for integrating future contribution formats into the client layer.
- Build and scale new contribution formats within shared post and comment experiences.
- Translate product requirements into technical roadmaps and drive alignment across Web, iOS, and Android.
- Serve as the technical anchor for the Contribution engineering team and influence the broader Content Ecosystem organization.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for prototyping, system design, and coding while validating and owning final outputs.
- Lead performant client infrastructure for rich-text rendering, edge-optimized media uploads, and offline/online state synchronization.
- Optimize the contribution funnel by reducing client-side friction and improving global contribution success rates.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership without directly managing the engineering team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proven experience as a Senior Staff Engineer or Principal Engineer on consumer-facing mobile or web client applications.
- Deep expertise in modern web architecture, including React, TypeScript, and advanced state management.
- Strong architectural command of native mobile paradigms, including iOS/Swift and Android/Kotlin.
- Experience solving client-side performance and rendering bottlenecks at scale.
- Experience building interactive features such as rich-text editors, asynchronous media processing pipelines, or real-time state synchronization systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence VP-level technical direction.
- Ability to lead large cross-functional engineering initiatives and balance technical excellence with growth objectives.
