Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for AI platform and product engineering, with emphasis on software design, reproducibility, performance, and maintainability.
- Turn research prototypes into secure, scalable, supportable products and reusable platform capabilities.
- Develop and optimize distributed machine-learning training and inference workflows across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Establish software engineering standards covering documentation, testing, code review, and reusable delivery patterns.
- Use CI/CD, DevOps, GitOps, and MLOps automation to improve delivery speed, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with AI researchers, scientists, platform teams, and external collaborators to translate scientific needs into technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to architecture decisions and technical roadmaps, and promote responsible, compliant, and reproducible AI engineering.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.
- Track record of applying software engineering best practices across multiple use cases.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and common scientific libraries such as PyTorch, NumPy, and Pandas.
- Experience optimizing distributed training of machine-learning models and building and deploying AI/ML systems in production.
- Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and other MLOps practices.
- Experience deploying cloud-native applications using cloud vendors such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving and technical communication skills, with demonstrated multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Desirable qualifications include enterprise-scale LLM and generative AI experience, architecture and roadmap contributions, responsible AI and governance experience, Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code experience, and experience in pharmaceutical, regulated, or scientific research environments.
