Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate high-throughput, low-latency authentication and identity services for SSO, MFA, session management, and federation.
- Own features end-to-end from design through production support, including secure token issuance, rotation, and revocation.
- Build concurrent and performant Go backend services with clear gRPC/HTTP API contracts.
- Deploy, manage, and automate identity infrastructure, including monitoring and incident response.
- Serve as the authentication and identity subject matter expert through security reviews, identity-flow threat modeling, and secure integration guidance.
- Integrate and maintain identity providers and federation solutions such as Keycloak and AWS Cognito.
- Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and contribute to the technical roadmap and security posture.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of backend engineering experience, including at least 5 years with Go and 3–4 years working with authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and session management in production.
- Strong production experience with Go and gRPC and experience building complex distributed backend systems.
- Deep knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, RBAC, JWT, token security, session management, and cryptography.
- Strong understanding of web security, federated identity, secure coding, and the OWASP Top 10.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency systems with a focus on security and correctness.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain security and architecture trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Nice-to-have experience with SAML, SCIM, PKI, JWKs/JWKS endpoints, KMS/HSM key management, token introspection, identity platforms, rate limiting, abuse mitigation, and adaptive authentication.
