Responsibilities
- Support, implement, and continuously improve the Commvault data protection environment for operational stability, performance, and business alignment.
- Administer and maintain monitoring and observability tools across a multi-tier storage environment.
- Build automation solutions using Ansible, Bitbucket, CHEF, Jenkins, Python, Bash, and other scripting or programming languages.
- Troubleshoot networking, Unix/Linux, Windows, storage, and application problems using command-line and management tools.
- Work with customers and engineering teams to define monitoring and automation requirements and implement solutions.
- Maintain technical designs, support documentation, operating procedures, and cross-training materials.
- Support business disaster recovery procedures and improve platform resiliency, availability, and operational processes.
- Lead strategic initiatives, provide technical leadership and mentoring, and drive adoption of reliability-focused standards across engineering teams.
Requirements
- Advanced expertise with the Commvault Data Protection Suite, including architecture, administration, optimization, and enterprise-scale data protection strategies.
- Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems and experience supporting Oracle ZFS, Data Domain, VAST Data, NetApp, HPE storage arrays, and enterprise storage platforms.
- Experience with SAN environments and Brocade Fibre Channel networking technologies.
- Advanced experience designing, implementing, and operating monitoring and observability solutions using Grafana, Prometheus, and related technologies.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, security principles, infrastructure design, Site Reliability Engineering, incident management, root cause analysis, capacity planning, resiliency engineering, and disaster recovery.
- Proficiency in automation, scripting, and software development using Python, Bash, and other modern programming languages.
- Experience architecting automation solutions that reduce operational toil, improve scalability, and enhance service resiliency.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise environments with mission-critical systems requiring high availability, reliability, and performance.
- Ability to lead multiple strategic initiatives, influence technical direction, manage stakeholders, and provide project leadership across global teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent English communication, presentation, documentation, analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and adapt to emerging technologies.
