Responsibilities
- Shape and evolve the architecture of MDO network automation capabilities, including reusable automation patterns, interfaces, and technical guidelines.
- Design, develop, maintain, implement, and review network automation components and scripts for multi-domain orchestration.
- Translate business, service, and network requirements into reusable automation designs with domain experts, customers, Product Owners, and engineering teams.
- Contribute to architecture and design reviews, technical decisions, consistency, lifecycle management, and versioning across automation components and interfaces.
- Implement service workflows and integrations using YANG, YAML, JSON, RESTful APIs, and where applicable TOSCA or BPMN.
- Support engineering quality and technical alignment across distributed teams through code reviews, testing, Git, CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile practices.
Requirements
- Strong experience designing and developing network automation or orchestration solutions, with interest in taking architectural responsibility.
- Strong object-oriented software engineering skills in Python or Java, plus working knowledge of or willingness to learn the other language.
- Experience with complex automation logic, service and resource definitions, reusable integration and interface patterns, YANG, YAML, JSON, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with network automation, orchestration, or service automation in a telecommunications environment and understanding of WAN, LAN, routing, and modern transport networks.
- Experience working in distributed international cross-functional teams with technical and business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Git, automated testing, code reviews, Agile ways of working such as Scrum or SAFe, and a DevOps mindset.
- English spoken and written at least at Level B2.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with TM Forum SID, TM Forum Open APIs, SDN, cloud networking architectures, 5G slicing, TOSCA, BPMN, Camunda, telco operational processes, application or container concepts, software packaging, configuration management, and German.
