Responsibilities
- Build, test, ship, and performance-tune production data and machine learning workloads with customers using PySpark, SQL, Python, BigQuery, Managed Spark, Spanner, and AlloyDB.
- Stand up proofs of concept using customer data, including de-identification of sensitive PCI and PHI data.
- Build lakehouse architectures, metadata and semantic context, and access controls that enable agents to use trusted data.
- Train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning and agentic components with production evaluation and monitoring.
- Refactor and migrate analytics, Spark, and operational database workloads to Google Cloud engines while measuring price-performance outcomes.
- Embed with customer accounts, provide hands-on deployment support, and communicate field insights to influence Google Cloud’s product roadmap.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, solution architecture, machine learning, or technical consulting.
- Experience writing production code in Python and SQL.
- Experience with data cloud ecosystem products, technologies, or languages such as Apache Spark, PySpark, BigQuery, Catalog, or AlloyDB.
- Experience taking production-grade data cloud solutions from conception to launch, architecting data systems on GCP, and building structured and unstructured pipelines.
- Experience training, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models in production.
- Fluent English and Portuguese communication skills.
- Preferred experience with data sovereignty, GDPR compliance, secure model governance, LLM applications, vector search, multi-agent frameworks, prompt engineering, model evaluation, LLM-native metrics, state management, and granular tracing.
- Preferred experience with BigQuery, Spark, Spanner, Dataplex, Databricks, Snowflake, Iceberg, Delta Lake, and migrating workloads between platforms.
