Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy and execution across complex customer AI engagements.
- Architect and build production-scale AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration, enterprise retrieval systems, and decision intelligence platforms.
- Define operational standards, evaluation frameworks, testing strategies, observability standards, incident response playbooks, and production readiness criteria.
- Create reusable architectures, engineering patterns, platforms, and accelerators that scale the FDE practice and reduce customer time-to-value.
- Mentor L4 and L5 FDEs, coach engineers on system design and customer engagement, and contribute to interviewing and hiring.
- Identify opportunities to expand AI adoption across customer organizations and feed learnings back into AWS services and the FDE practice.
- Travel 30–50% as required for customer engagements.
Requirements
- Experience mentoring, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading agentic and spec-driven development at production scale; experience developing AI agents is a plus.
- Experience with AI tools, evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Experience with AWS services.
- Experience building or deploying AI/ML applications at enterprise production scale.
- Experience architecting and delivering complex, multi-component systems in customer production environments.
- Experience leading customer-facing technical projects or managing external stakeholder relationships.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and/or Go.
- Preferred background as a founder, engineering lead, or startup builder with high ownership and urgency.
- Experience working in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent preferred.
