Responsibilities

  • Define team goals, priorities, and technical direction in alignment with company strategy.
  • Design and implement complex technical solutions and influence engineering guidelines and standards.
  • Own large technical features from design through completion, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Build scalable, reliable, observable, and resilient distributed systems for the Partner proposition.
  • Lead complex projects and discovery, make technical trade-offs, and reduce technical debt and complexity.
  • Mentor engineers through pairing and code reviews and model engineering best practices.
  • Improve partner experiences across lead routing, onboarding, appointments, and partner business management through experimentation and data-informed decisions.

Requirements

  • Experience with Go is preferred but not essential.
  • Proven fluency with Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
  • Solid experience building distributed systems, including concurrency and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong understanding of system resilience, observability, uptime, SLAs, and progressive degradation.
  • Ability to deliver end-to-end solutions from design through build, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling, Terraform, and modern cloud workflows.
  • Experience mentoring mid-level engineers and working in autonomous, product-focused teams.
  • Familiarity with Kafka and database migrations, such as CockroachDB to RDS, is a plus.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and ability to work in an agile, iterative environment.
  • Hands-on experience with AI development tools and openness to AI-assisted software development.
