Responsibilities
- Lead software engineering development through guidance and direction of one or more software engineers.
- Design and implement software for embedded targeted hardware using C++ and real-time operating systems.
- Coordinate development meetings, issue tracking, status reporting, and development schedules.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, test, and other engineering teams on system interfaces and performance requirements.
- Investigate root causes of complex issues and implement solutions independently or with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Use modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experiments, prototype, and evaluate results.
- Participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and repair defects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 9 years of prior engineering experience, or a graduate degree with 7 years of prior engineering experience, or 13 years of related engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in the computer/software engineering field.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional C++ development experience.
- Minimum of 3 years leading software development teams.
- Active US Secret security clearance.
- Preferred: experience developing and testing real-time embedded software.
- Preferred: familiarity with Green Hills RTOS.
- Preferred: experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages for real-time embedded systems.
- Preferred: experience with modern C++ techniques.
- Preferred: experience as an Agile ScrumMaster and/or Product Owner.
- Preferred: working knowledge of Linux.
