Responsibilities
- Work across the full software lifecycle from requirements gathering and design through coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Liaise with management and stakeholders to understand client requirements and team objectives.
- Lead technical teams and contribute technical leadership across client projects.
- Champion engineering best practices and identify or create technical solutions.
- Provide project teams with feedback on progress and outcomes.
- Advise developers on technical decisions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in technical leadership.
- Expertise in software architecture and design.
- Substantial hands-on commercial experience as a Java Engineer.
- Ability to advocate Java and coding principles, practices, and philosophy.
- Ability to communicate designs verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders and detailed technical specialists.
- Strong project management skills and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous government or public-sector experience is beneficial.
